Polish Up on Platinum
HFN introduced Platinum as a new product offering in
the July 2004 issue of
Members
enrolled in the Platinum Network:
Plan design
has a minimum thirty percent (30%) plan differential, i.e. 100/70, 90/60, and
80/50 ("in-network"/"out-of-network" benefits) . Some Platinum plans are 100/0 (100% coverage
"in-network" and no coverage "out-of-network");
Must verify provider's Platinum participation prior
to scheduling each appointment. HFN will
assist members by calling the physician's office to confirm active admitting
privileges at a Platinum hospital; and
The HFN Platinum logo is required on ID cards and
HFN must be indicated on the Explanation of Benefits.
The
following are key provider features about this very exclusive and limited
Platinum Network:
The HFN Platinum Hospital
Network is a selected network of hospitals who have contracted with HFN for
deeper discounts;
Platinum Physicians:
1. participate
in the HFN Network via a Physician Services Agreement. The Agreement may be a direct individual
Physician Services Agreement or through a contracting entity such as a group,
Independent Physician Association, or Physician Hospital Organization; and
2. have
either active admitting privileges and/or are members of the medical staff and
provide healthcare services at a Platinum hospital; and
Other Platinum Providers:
1. all
ancillary providers, allied health professionals, and alternative complementary
providers who are owned by, affiliated with or represented by a Platinum
hospital; and/or
2. all other
independently owned and operated ancillary providers, allied health
professionals, and alternative complementary providers located in the Platinum
service area and have executed an HFN provider agreement.
As part
of a major communication program, Platinum providers will be receiving a letter
from HFN describing more details about Platinum and how providers may
contribute to our mutual success and the satisfaction of your patients and our
members. In the meantime, please call
our dedicated Platinum Help Desk at (630) 573-6224, option 3 if you need to
verify your Platinum status.
